This program contributes to Dubai Cares’ commitment to consolidate the developmental readiness of children to start primary school on time, through interventions in the context of Renovated Koranic Education, which is an innovative preschool model developed in Comoros that combines essential preschool competency-building for school readiness with Koranic teaching. The program also focuses on improving lower primary school girls’ and boys’ learning experience and retention rates.
Main components of the program are:
• Developing and disseminating preprimary standards and procedures
• Improving classroom environment for 4-5 year old children
• Providing teaching and learning materials to teachers and children in pre-primary and primary school
• Consolidating teacher training curriculum design and delivery for pre-primary grades
• Raising awareness and conveying messages to ensure sustained interest and full understanding of Renovated Koranic Schools
